Your vascular health is extremely important, as a healthy heart can add more years to your life. If you don't have a healthy heart, you may be in need of surgery to clear out the clogs and plaque in your arteries. Eat A Healthy Diet
Eating a healthy diet can improve much of your health, not just your heart. You'll see an improvement in your skin, you'll have more energy, your memory may also improve, and other aspects of your life can also improve. Eat a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as plenty of lean protein, and fresh fish as well. Stay away from fast foods and processed foods which can be loaded in fats, nitrates, sodium, carbohydrates and other unhealthy fillers.
Drink More Water
Drink plenty of water each and every day. Keep track of how much you are drinking, and try to get in a minimum of 8 - 10 glasses of water per day. Water keeps your body hydrated and can clear your body of harmful toxins.
Start An Exercise Regimen
Talk to your physician about getting on an exercise regimen. Even just walking each day can improve your heart health. If you are able to, try out an exercise class, or lift weights to improve your heart health. If you can get your heart rate up, even just a little bit for about 20 minutes each day, it can be beneficial. Always talk to your physician before stating any type of exercise program.
Smoking is one of the leading causes of strokes and heart attacks. This is because the tar and carcinogens from cigarettes can build up in your arteries leaving plaque behind to clog your arteries. If you are a smoker, stop immediately. If you aren't able to stop on your own, talk to your physician about tips to help you quit smoking. Either way, you need to stop smoking.
Limit Caffeine Intake
Thinking that caffeine is necessary to get through your day is not a good way to think. Some caffeine is not bad, but if you are constantly feeding your body caffeine, you could be lining yourself up for a heart attack. Limit your intake to just one caffeinated beverage per day, and stay away from energy drinks that can be loaded with caffeine.
